Getting to Munich

Munich has excellent national and international connections thanks to its airport, railway, and road network.

by Plane

From the Munich Airport (Franz Josef Strauß Flughafen München) take the suburban train (S8 or S1) to Marienplatz. Change here to the underground line U3 (direction Odeonsplatz, Moosach) or U6 (direction Odeonsplatz, Garching-Forschungszentrum) and exit at Münchner Freiheit.

by Train

There are several daily high-speed train connections to Munich from all major German cities. For train schedules within Germany, visit the Deutsche Bahn website. If arriving by train, take any suburban train (S-Bahn) to Marienplatz. Change here to the underground line U3 or U6 and exit at Münchner Freiheit.

by Car

Munich is well connected to Germany's highway (Autobahn) network. The motorway ring around Munich (A99) connects various motorways from all directions. In addition, Munich has two inner circuits: the Mittlerer Ring and the Altstadtring. The "Kardinal Wendel House" is located in the city center, in Schwabing, Mandlstraße 23, 80802 Munich, which can be reached from both circuits, preferably, after leaving the A9 coming from the north, via the Altstadtring and Leopoldstraße.

Please note: There is only a limited number of pay & display parking spaces available in the venue area. However, there is a multi-story parking garage, open 24h close by (Türkenstraße 84) (www.park-one.com/standorte/muenchen/amalienpassage/). From there, you can take the underground line U3 and U6 and exit at Münchner Freiheit. Or you can walk by foot which should approximately take no more than 10 minutes.
