Call for Papers

We are pleased to announce the upcoming international and interdisciplinary conference on “14 Years of pairfam – Résumé and Outlook of the German Family Panel”, to be held from May 11 to May 13, 2022 in Munich, Germany, and online. Save the dates and mark your calendar!

Since 2008 the pairfam project provides large representative longitudinal datasets to be used by the scientific community for analyzing close relationships and family dynamics in Germany from a multi-actor perspective. This official closing conference is part of the scientific program of the pairfam project, which has been funded by the German Research Foundation across 14 years. For further information see www.pairfam.de.

Our final conference addresses all main themes of pairfam including

  • issues of partnership,
  • parenthood,
  • intergenerational relationships,
  • parenting and child development,
  • current topics like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Invited presentations by internationally renowned scientists will focus on the scientific achievements of the pairfam project for interdisciplinary family research as well as the panel’s future as part of the FReDA data infrastructure. We invite submissions of papers and posters presenting research on the panel’s key themes. Contributions based on pairfam data are particularly welcome.

Please submit an abstract until November 1st, 2021.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the final format of the conference will depend on government restrictions in May 2022. We are currently planning a hybrid event allowing for both on-site and online participation. Given limitations in the number of participants, we encourage early registration. We are looking forward to numerous submissions and an exciting conference.
